Brothermunty Pierre de Fil, founder of The Oobu Brotherhood
Realising that there was no one central body that set the dates for Tarvuist festivals, Brothermunty Pierre de Fil of Lyons, set up The Oobu Brotherhood in 1140.
The Brotherhood comprised a group of astrologers and mathematicians, who formulated what has become known the 'Chib', or Tarvunian calendar.
Nowadays the Oobu Brotherhood consists of eight male priestmunties who work closely with the Givil to produce its yearly Chib.
Recently the Oobu Brotherhood was beset by allegations that seven of its members were in fact babies.
